We received the sweetest review on Wedding Wire today and I just wanted to post it here since I am not sure that many people view the website too often. Anyhow it about made my horrible day (today has been a big let down) and I don’t even know who posted it.
After seeing their blog www.tooleart.com/blog I absolutely had to have them shoot our wedding. Their work is absolutely amazing!!! I love their whole philosophy of shooting every wedding so that it reflects the couples personality. Or how they only take a limited number of weddings each year so they can focus on their couples and get the images edited faster. (only was 2 weeks for us, and they edit every single image, that is awesome!) To top it all off Crystal and Mike are such cool and fun people that it was like having a good friend photograph our wedding. I feel so lucky to have found them, they are really not kidding having Art in their name.
Thanks so much!

I had the pleasure of shooting these two again, after their wedding date and it was so awesome. I do suggest doing an after wedding shoot if you want to really use the dress and get some photos that are stress free.
And also because it is SO fun for me. Ha. So we went to Cranbrook Gardens and did some “engagement” shots and bridal atire shots. It was FREEZING but I think we still did pretty good.

Congrats to you two. We had so much fun shooting your wedding and meeting their videographer Kristyn Smyth from Castle Video Productions. Here are a few favorites from the day.
Her flowers were SO pretty! Loved em.

Shoes!

It was a little wet and rainy

I have to say that I LOVED this wedding. Everything about it was so personal and beautiful. Amanda and Brett had such amazing hearts and so much love between each other. They had a simple and beautiful ceremony at a lovely location that of course made the day all that much better. I have to say as a photographer having a great location with awesome light and awesome settings is one of the best things to do to make your wedding epic! No joke, from the farmers market to a metro park, this location was one of those ones I will remember for a long time and I am sure the guests will as well.
Everything happened right at Indian Spring Metropark and we had so much time to get so many amazing shots that everything about the day was perfect. The couple saw each other before hand and I have to say that it really made their couple pics. The ceremony was outdoors and reception inside this eco friendly structure. The lake and secluded area was so wonderful.

There was alot of this going on all day!
The best thing in the world is when a bride and groom really ENJOY getting married!

The under water observatory. Cool.

We really want to move, have for awhile but of course in today’s situation we can’t sell our house and thus are stuck driving back and forth every weekend for weddings. Not always bad though.

Sheilah and Joe were married this month in Grand Rapids at St. Thomas the Apostle. It was a beautiful wedding with some very sweet people and in spite of the rain we got a lot of wonderful shots. It was a pleasure to have lots of time with the bride and groom to play around with different locations and get tons of shots between the wedding and reception. The reception took place at The Bob in Grand Rapids in the newly renovated Eve Lounge. It was really cool we almost didn’t recognize it from last year! Here is a preview of the beautiful wedding!

We also had the pleasure of working with Owen Video and if you watch the trailer for Sheila and Joe you will see Mike and I quite a few times.

We took a day trip to Traverse City awhile back and shot this sweet couples wedding. It was a fun day and in spite of the threat of rain everything went swimingly! Congrats to the both of you! The wedding took place at Central United Methodist and the reception at Hagerty Center. We also had fun meeting the videographers who work out of Traverse City, Zack Wessels of Traverse City Video.

Natalie and Bobby’s wedding was gorgeous and so fun! It is always a pleasure to shoot for people I know and always a bit more meaningful. While I don’t know Natalie very well, I did go to High School with her sister and Bobby’s! Natalie’s mom gave me one of my most favorite compliments ever. She told me that my photos weren’t just photos but little memories (and moments) captured forever. So cute.
Thanks Ella! The reception took place at The Polo Fields (and it really was a beautiful location).
The boys and their guns (literally!)

Fave!

They were too cute! Very happy couple.

The chocolate fountain was a hit!

The adorable DJ’s!

The girls did a little dance for the guests, it was awesome.

As a wedding photographer I tend not to pick favorites when it comes to actual weddings. If the couple is in love and happy then it is a good wedding in my book. If a couple goes the extra mile then it is a great wedding. This wedding was gorgeous and I think I find myself being partial to it because of the location and wonderful laid back atmosphere. But the location! It was at River Birch Lodge in Hartland MI. Mike and I have thought about where we want to do a vow renewal when the day comes, because yes we are those type of people and will be having a big bash to celebrate somewhere down the road, and this is now on the top of my list for locations. Probably another reason I LOVE this wedding.
So this post is totally dedicated to the DETAILS! Mmmmmmm

Our friends at A Moment in Time did the flowers and were also the day of planners. They are awesome if you are thinking of having an event planner involved in your wedding!

And all the food and baked goods (and there were alot) were done by Epoch Catering.

Ok, I might have gone overboard… But can you blame me? And actually there will be more to come very soon!
