This was a very special wedding, not just because of the love, the family or the fun. But from a photographers stand point everything was very lovely. Not only was it well organized but we had all the best lighitng, set ups and locations. I am happy to post some favorites from this great wedding. There may be a few to many so I am going to post a few blogs. Here are the getting ready pics.

Mary and John Married! Part 1
August 18, 2010Kaytie and Shawn Meadow Brook Hall Wedding!
August 10, 2010This past few weeks have been a whirl wind. We have been traveling, shooting, vacationing and working on our house. Between all of that I have been blessed with some of the best couples ever and some of the best weddings! I have to say that Kaytie and Shawn were a joy to work with. They were wonderfully in love and so funny with each other. We had so much fun shooting their wedding! Meadow Brook Hall was gorgeous and we had a ton of time for photos which is always a pleasure. Here are a few from Kaytie and Shawns special day!
Michele and Eric’s Virginia Wedding
July 12, 2010It has been awhile since I last posted. Every year I say that I am going to slow down for the summer, shot less, work less, play more. Well it seams that I am working more, shooting more and playing more. All of this adds up to busy, busy, busy! So a few weekends back Mike and I traveled to Richmond Virgina and shot the beautiful wedding of Michele and Eric and had alot of fun in the proccess. Here is a big old blog post of favorite.
Virgina was just beautiful and we had such a great trip, both flights were awesome and the hotel and city were the funnest. We traveled along with Michele, Eric and family to some fun wine tasting and sight seeing and these are a few of the beautiful things we saw along the way.
We headed to the capital for a few shots of the wedding party and Michele and Eric. They were golden in front of the camera, the light was gorgeous and the day went without a hitch!
These two lovely girls are my awesome brother in laws sisters. We love them and their family very much because without them my sister wouldn’t have found the love of her life either.
The best part about this wedding (photography speaking) is the lovely reception location! The Hanover Tavern was amazing and exactly my favorite type of party venue!
And another fave from the inside of the awesome tavern!
Goodnight Virginia, I hope we get to visit again soon!
Congrats Michele and Eric, everything was gorgeous and I know you are going to have a happy life together! Enjoy each other and all the love for years to come!
Lisa and Frank Detroit Michigan Wedding
June 24, 2010I have been out of commission for awhile now, sick as a dog and so far behind on my blog posts. So here is Lisa and Frank and their gorgeous Detroit wedding. We love Lisa and Frank and were so excited to see them again for their big day. You guys rock!!
LOVED Lisa’s dress, so classy.
The ring pillow was one of my favorite details from the day.
Lisa found some red doors that she wanted to stop at before heading to Belle Isle.
Lisa and Frank were married outside at Belle Isle Conservatory. Very pretty.
Second fave!

Two little guys entered the dance floor and stole the show…
Daddy daughter dances always get me crying.

My second favorite little detail of the day was the awesome cake topper!!
The Knot Magazine, Ann Arbor style!
June 11, 2010Check out the current The Knot Magazine Michigan, you can see some of Liz and Joel’s fun wedding. We are in the special Ann Arbor section. Liz and Joel’s wedding was at the farmers market over my Kerry Town, Ann Arbor.
Sarah and Geoffrey are married!!!
May 12, 2010I just want to say congrats to these two lovely people! Not only have they known each other for a very long time, you can just see the love all over their faces for each other. They are going to have a happy life ahead of them and I was very pleased to be a part of their special day! You two are awesome!!!

I LOVE Sarah’s dress and veil! So awesome!
Sarah and Geoffrey had a first look moment so that we could head over to Cranbrook and shoot a little before the wedding. They were so adorable and Sarah was so excited to show off her dress, veil, flowers, etc. Too cute!
The wedding and reception took place at The Community House in Birmingham.
Blessing the bread!
Favorite reception site from 2010: River Birch Lodge
January 27, 2010I thought I would do a few favorites from 2010 over the next few months since I have a three month break from photography.
So to start I thought I would show everyone my favorite venue for weddings and receptions. I LOVE River Birch so much that I even showed it off to my family this past weekend (little sis is looking at locations) and even in the winter it is awesome (maybe even more awesome in the winter…). So here are a few of the things I LOVE about this place. Number one, in the summer you can get married outside and of course it is SO pretty and some of you may know I also LOVE outdoor weddings. Number two, you can stay on site that night. I have been involved in several weddings and when things cool down and you break apart for the night it can be kind of a low. I love how you can all stay in the many bedrooms of the house and enjoy a breakfast together the next day. Number three, the environment is not stuffy! There aren’t a million other weddings going on, or people walking around a hotel or anything like that. I have a thing for intimate wedding venues where the night just seams magical. And this place makes it happen. Here are some shots from the night we were there last year and the gorgeousness of the surroundings. Lots of woods, stone, fire, etc. Very beautiful!
Here are a few of the outside
Where the wedding ceremonies happen.
Detail inside the lodge
From the master bedroom, there are tons of cool photo backdrops, like this rug that I loved.
I don’t usually share the group shots as much cause they aren’t my favorite, but the backdrop for these was excellent!
I love the back deck!
Inside, one of my favorite fireplaces.
There were many beautiful weddings this year and just as many awesome locations. We are blessed to work in many different cities and see new things all the time. But for this past year River Birch took the cake. As for runners up, I would have to say that the Ann Arbor farmer’s market and Indian Springs were fun and unique. I like when there is a flavor of personality in the location and it seams to make the couple more relaxed. More of my favorites to come soon!
Good news and bad news…
January 12, 2010Ok, so bad news first. My email has been down for over 24 hours and not only am I going crazy but also I can’t email you back. And possibly if you did email me it just bounced back to you. So we are in the process of fixing it. You may be able to email me now even.
Sorry for the inconvience and for the website and blog being down. Not fun.
Good news! If you live in the metro detroit area (or even Holland, since I found one here) you can check out Kerryn and Chris’s awesome wedidng in their new magazine! Check it out. I am especially proud of this because I had the worst flu ever during this wedding and still got it into a magazine.
You can also see these two beautiful people here!
Becky and Kiel happy 6 month aniversary!
November 12, 2009For those of you who keep up on the blog, my little sister was married in May. You might have noticed her 4 blog posts…. One, Two, Three, Four. I did notice that there two engagement shoots aren’t posted on the new blog though, so hopefully you aren’t too sick of the two of them…because there is more. If you notice from the shots that I am in a few of them because I was a matron of honor. And so Mike and Stacey shot the majority of the wedding and did a great job! I had a camera (I have to admit) but I tried to let go (since that is hard for me) and just enjoy myself. So we had talked about doing an after shoot just for fun and to get Becky into her dress one last time
It has taken 6 months to actually find an open date but we finally got out and took a few new shots. Of course by now it is freezing in Holland and while we tried to tackle the beach, it just wasn’t possible. Here are a few faves. Love you guys, congrats on being happily married!!!
Aimee and Clark Married!
November 10, 2009Our last wedding for the season and we were once again over on Belle Isle for the send off. Aimee and Clark were great and I could tell they had an awesome time on their wedding day, even with the heat broken.
We started off at Curl Up and Dye in Detroit and headed to the gorgeous church. Then ended up on Belle Isle at the Casino, which is still gorgeous, but a little cold since the heat broke the night before. But that didn’t hurt the party, everyone was out busting a move on the dance floor and we have a ton of pics to prove it.
Congrats again Aimee and Clark! Here is a preview of your special day.
I love Aimee’s getting ready shots. Curl Up and Dye was the perfect location, lots of light and lovely background. I could post more, but I will try to keep it short.
Oh and I LOVED Aimee’s flowers, they were a work of art!
One of my favorite of Mikes from the day. A beautiful pearl in downtown Detroit!
Isn’t the church lovely?
It was a VERY cold day, but we stuck it out for a few shots.
Mike’s specialty, beautiful nighttime shots. And this one was awesome because a car turned their headlights on right when he took it so you get that casino sign all lit up!
Love it!
