I couldn’t have been happier to take these two’s photos (just for fun). They were so cute and very much in love and even though Brandon would rather be behind the camera than in front of it he actually did a great job after the first few attempts to warm up to the camera. They changed outfits 3 times and here are some samples of their photos and what they wore.

September 14, 2009Preschool for my little guy!
September 11, 2009Delilah is 10 months old and Parker is heading to preschool! Where does the time go? I can’t believe how fast they are growing up.
Parker started preschool on Wednesday and while he had no problem what so ever, I on the other hand felt a bit lost. I walked around aimlessly cause I wasn’t ready to leave him for the next 13-17 years of his life in the hands of teachers, and school bells, bullies, friends, enemy’s, etc. etc. It is all so strange for me. But I know he is perfectly capable, likable, friendly and funny. He will have a good time, even when I am freaking out!
I’m so happy…I could dance!
August 29, 2009Ah, the joys of being a mom. I have had this silly Yo Gabba Gabba song in my head all morning! I didn’t even watch the show today, and yet somehow it creeps into my brain and can’t get out! Today is a beautiful “FALL” day in the middle of August and we are going to head out to the farmers market soon to enjoy the cool weather and a weekend off work! Next weekend we are back to photographing weddings and I can’t wait cause the wedding is outside at a park and the couple is awesome and so relaxed and happy together! But for now I am going to enjoy my kids and hubby and eat some home made bread and maybe some blueberries. My little ones are growing so fast I can’t even believe it! Parker is heading to preschool in a week! and Delilah is almost 10 months old! We have had a rough week but all in all every day is a blessing! So if you have kids, snuggle em close cause they grow WAY too fast!

August 28, 2009The Zoo
August 19, 2009Last year around this time we took a trip to the Grand Rapids zoo. This year was SO different than last year. I was struck by how crazy it was to have two kids with us instead of one. Last year Delilah was just a bun in the oven and I was exhausted before we even started out on our animal adventure. I remember being winded by the end of our trip and really needing a nap last year. This year seamed so effortless and I couldn’t even imagine being tired walking the length of the tiny zoo. Mike and I love this zoo cause we both think it is exactly the right size! The Detroit zoo is nice but so so so big for just a 4 year old to explore. Grand Rapids has so many animals but is just the right size. There are camel rides, sting rays you can pet, a bird cage you can feed the birds from and a petting farm. The penguins are so cool and really close up too (that was always my favorite when I was little). I think we will take another trip when it is cooler, but here are some pics of my wild and crazy kids.
This year he actually touched the sting rays! Last year he wanted nothing to do with them!

Her favorite sleepy time bear. So cute!
And the zoo last year!!! He hasn’t changed too much right? Zoo 2008

August 13, 2009Vacation Part NI!
August 5, 2009So the second part of our vacation was to Yosemite National Park! It was awesome. Mike and I always talked about doing a road trip to all the national parks in the area but of course we haven’t had a month where that would be a possibility yet. Maybe when we retire
It was fun to tool around the park and shoot for the day though. We hiked up a dome and got a great view and then went to the bottom of one of the falls. It was gorgeous. Here are some favorite pics!

July 27, 2009Can’t sleep
July 24, 2009Some nights sleep can’t come fast enough, the day was hectic, your pulled in every direction, groceries, cleaning, cooking, bathing, playing, swiming, so many things you can hardly believe you accomplished them in one day. Other days the same things happen, your just as busy but when night falls…sleep just doesn’t happen. I find these are my thoughtful nights. If I ponder life, the future (which secrectly I hate to do) or anything more trivial than getting to the next task on my to do list, I can’t seam to get to sleep. I can’t seam to stop running over possibilities. Where I want to go, what I want to see. Not everyone knows this about me, but as much as I love shooting weddings and having the freedom to do so many things because I don’t work a 9-5 job, sometimes I miss the structure. And on top of that I do want to eventually join the full time work force again. Most people say, why!? You have such a good thing going for you… But I really long to teach, and to teach art. I miss being envoloped in an artists world. Sure, I get some of this feeling from my current work… but it is still work. I want to do art for me again. Paint, draw, sew, whatever.
Ahhhh, and this is why I can’t sleep tonight. Well, with that being said. Here are a few images from our recent vacation (more to come soon). For now this is my retreat, my way to escape and be an artist again, even in a little way. I also love to travel, to explore new things… When Mike and I go on vacation we come back more exhausted than when we left. Here is the first part of our trip. San Fran.
Vaca!
