Modern style, beautifully classic, high end wedding photography

Welcome to our blog! We are Crystal and Mike, a husband and wife wedding photography team! We also shoot engagements, families and anything that might cross our paths. We do specialize in weddings however and bring to the experience two professional photographers with similar tastes but somewhat different styles. The luxury of working with two wedding photographers has always been an amazing bonus for our brides and grooms. We are located in Michigan and travel all over the state, we are also available for destination weddings and love to travel.

So if you are here to learn more about us, our style, our lives and anything else that might interest you, feel free to explore the blog and we hope to hear from you soon. If you are looking for something specific check out the categories section and for fun vendors, social networking sites, and other bridal goodies check out our links.

We will update as often as we can with images, life and information that you might like to know about, so bookmark if you are a blog stalker (like us). We also love comments and would love feedback and love from former/current clients, friends, family or whoever else might be interesting in the happenings of Toole Art Photography.

Sarah and Geoffrey are Engaged!

We had so much fun taking Sarah and Geoffrey’s pics, in spite of an overreaction to the possible rain (which actually didn’t come till 8 and then it was a downpour!) We met at Cranbrook and it was gorgeous. I almost changed locations and now I am so glad that we didn’t because I never knew how beautiful this place is, luckily Sarah did. ;) Here is a not so little preview of the images we captured.

Courtney and Jason

We had so much fun sharing in your special day! It was gorgeous weather, lovely people and alot of love all day. Congrats to you both and here is a sneak peak of some wedding pics!

My fave…

I have a thing for taking pics of kids at weddings, I think I took a few two many of these two, so cute!

Happy Late Fathers Day!!

I really wanted to get this posted yesterday but we have been bombarded by a plague, no seriously though we had a spat of the stomach flu as well as our basement flooding, loosing two tvs, two printers, our Internet router and more fun things like this. So after getting home from a busy weekend we didn’t even have Internet so I could post a quick shout out to my two favorite fathers! Sorry all you other fathers out there, I love you too but my daddy and my babies daddy take the cake. I just wanted to say I love you both and am happy with how wonderfully “there” you are for me and my little ones. Thanks for all you do! Much love!

Lisa and Frank engaged!

I had so much fun with Lisa and Frank, they were fairly easy to photograph in spite of being camera shy. We wandered around downtown Milford and they put up with me having them lay on the ground and climbing a hill to the railroad tracks. Hopefully I didn’t scare them too much because we will be shooting them again next year at their Belle Isle wedding. Here is a preview of their shoot!

Babies!

My friend Mary had a little baby boy last weekend and I got the pleasure of meeting him on Sunday! He is so small and precious! I just wanted to snuggle him all day. But instead I took some pics of him for fun. ;)

The snuggie I made for him!

Hobbies

I am very detail oriented (as you may have noticed by some of my detail heavy blog posts). I love decorating, art, crafts, etc. If I had more time I would learn to do as much as I can. Right now I am redecorating my kitchen. It would be awesome to be able to rip out the cabnets and really get everything the way I want it, but for now I am focusing on the little things. ;)

Here are some pics of recent additions…

These prints are from Tiny Bazaar on Etsy! Beautiful color and actually match perfectly!

These are from Macy’s!

From Anthropologie a LONG time ago!

My new cups from Crate and Barrel

Cupcake fun! I used these for the first time today, they are a bit hard to fill, but pretty cool. I will post pics of my cupcakes later. ;)

New containers, cause I LOVE containers….

Spoons, spoons, spoons!

LOVE these magnets from Papaya Art, and of course other goodies that I have purchased from them!

Kids

I have recently discovered a great personality flaw. I have a huge ability to multi task and also a desire to do everything and anything under the sun. This can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. So while out with my friend Megan we had to shoot some pics of her daughter, then of course the rest of the kids had to get involoved. The result was chaos and of course alot of editing after the fact. Right now my editing box contains too many shoots for me to think about (or I might have an anxiety attack) Of course on top of that I want to sew slip covers for my coach and chair, paint various areas in my house, paint a few canvases for my livingroom, make cupcakes for my baby boys birthday (he will be 4 in two weeks!!) and of course keep up on cleaning and laundry and the like. My life is very busy and with that in mind be ready for several posts this week!! Possibly one or two more today even. ;)

All the bambinos we were attempting to juggle and keep out of the street! (successfully!) Of course we had Kiana’s help too! ;)

Logan wanted in on the action as well. He was all about getting his picture taken.

My son did not want to cooperate however…. This is about all I can get out of him these days, unless I sneak up on him!

And my little girl. She is a handful, but more and more lovely every day!

Kristina and Jay Part Dos!

And for just another fun taste of Kristina and Jay’s awesome wedding day, here are some more than just detail images!

And if that isn’t enough, we also have a slide show of their special day. Check it out!

Kristina and Jay are married!

As a wedding photographer I tend not to pick favorites when it comes to actual weddings. If the couple is in love and happy then it is a good wedding in my book. If a couple goes the extra mile then it is a great wedding. This wedding was gorgeous and I think I find myself being partial to it because of the location and wonderful laid back atmosphere. But the location! It was at River Birch Lodge in Hartland MI. Mike and I have thought about where we want to do a vow renewal when the day comes, because yes we are those type of people and will be having a big bash to celebrate somewhere down the road, and this is now on the top of my list for locations. Probably another reason I LOVE this wedding. ;) So this post is totally dedicated to the DETAILS! Mmmmmmm

Our friends at A Moment in Time did the flowers and were also the day of planners. They are awesome if you are thinking of having an event planner involved in your wedding!

And all the food and baked goods (and there were alot) were done by Epoch Catering.

Ok, I might have gone overboard… But can you blame me? And actually there will be more to come very soon!

Little Muchkins

Just a few of the cutest little girls. We had fun till it started to rain and I finally got to meet my friend Andi’s family. ;)
